Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Docklet (the app) and this website. We've written them to be readable — our goal is for you to actually understand what you're agreeing to, not just click through.

Last updated: 1 June 2025 · Applies to Docklet for macOS and madebycomputers.com/docklet

Who we are

Docklet is developed and published by madebycomputers.com, an independent software operation. When these terms say "we," "us," or "our," that's who we mean. When they say "you," we mean you — the person installing or using Docklet.

What you're getting

By downloading Docklet, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your Mac(s) according to the tier you've chosen:

A "license" here means the right to run the software — not ownership of the code itself. We retain all intellectual property rights to Docklet.

Billing and refunds

Pro licenses are a one-time purchase. All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record and is responsible for handling sales tax and VAT where applicable. Lemon Squeezy also handles license management and will distribute software license key(s) with your purchase.

Refunds: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with Docklet Pro within 30 days of purchase, email help@madebycomputers.com and we'll issue a full refund, no questions asked. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion.

Price changes: If we lower the price of a Pro tier within 30 days of a purchase email help@madebycomputers.com and we'll issue a partial refund to match the new pricing.

Updates and future changes

We push updates to Docklet regularly. We may add, remove, or change features over time. We'll communicate significant changes in the release notes.

The free tier is really free

The free tier of Docklet is not a trial. It has no time limit. We don't nag you to upgrade and we don't degrade the experience over time. The free widgets and features are yours to use indefinitely.

Your content

Docklet processes information on your Mac — clipboard history, media metadata, system statistics, shortcuts — to provide its features. This is your data. We claim no rights over it. See our Privacy Policy for a detailed breakdown of what each widget does with data.

Availability

We try to keep Docklet working reliably, but we can't make any guarantees. macOS updates can occasionally break functionality while we work on fixes. We will push fixes as quickly as we can. We're a small team and we care about this.

We also make no guarantees about the uptime of this website, the availability of the download server, or the availability of update checks. These are all best-effort services.

Third-party services

Some widgets interact with third-party services at your direction:

We are not responsible for the behaviour, availability, or terms of these third-party services.

For more information about the use of third-party services see our privacy policy.

Our liability to you

To put it plainly: Docklet is a utility widget app. It is provided in good faith and we stand behind it. That said:

Docklet is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind — express or implied. We're not liable for any loss of data, loss of business, loss of profits, or any other consequential damage arising from your use of the app. Our total liability to you in any situation is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights, which vary by jurisdiction.

Website acceptable use

When using this website (madebycomputers.com/docklet), you agree not to:

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which madebycomputers.com is established. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes — ones that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations — we'll notify existing Pro license holders by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Docklet after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can stop using the app.
